a finisher

yay... i'm a finisher!!! :D 42.195k... in 6hr 50min. I'm happy.
Lots of teeth gritting, groaning inside... Dousing myself with
cups of water, slathering Deep Heat on my legs...wrist band
soaked, feet burning. The worst was the nausea...The last 2 km
was crazy. But it was the best. I caught a third wind and
flew to the finish. Crossing the finish line was really something.
I was almost in tears. I couldn't believe i made it. Then again,
i was shouting inside my head, "i did it, i did it!!!" Another
tear jerker was seeing the 42k engraved on my medal.
Collecting the Finisher's tee... oh boy!!! hhahaa... On
previous years, i see people hobbling around in pain,
wearing their Finisher's tees... I looked at them with envy.
Yea. And this year i get to hobble with them and wear the
tee. wahahhahhaa.... i'm so happy.
So now, at home, my leg muscles are screaming. My left
calf is so tight, my glutes are threatening to cramp up
anytime, my hamstrings are aching, my quads are sore.
But i'm happy. yes.... i'm a finisher. i did it. YAY!!! :D
